"SosyalBen is the only place where I use the words ‘how good’ mostly in my life. It is an asset that brings together hundreds of university students for a single purpose. When I went to the field and met up with the children for the first time, I felt that I was spiritually satisfied. If you can create a smile in the faces of beautiful children who do not expect anything but love, it means that you are on the right path and in the right place. With SosyalBen, we find the opportunity to touch the lives of children that are miles away from us. We thank everyone who believes and makes us to believe in this way so that even no one single child remains unreached."

It makes people from all around of Turkey sit at a table around a project and jointly ask the question: “How can we be more beneficial for children?” until beating their brains out for finding the right answer.
For our trips, everything is always very good planned, the travel maps are prepared, and our ideas travel together with volunteers. And finally when we arrive at the field, we always see that the children are so eager to learn something from us, while we are so prepared to teach them something.
Endless thanks to SosyalBen for having introduced thousands of students to voluntarism!”

“Being a member of SosyalBen means for me, in a sense, also growing up; to be friends with many children since 2013; to become brothers and sisters; to get acquainted with thousands of children from Sinop to Hatay or from Cambodia to Montenegro;
SosyalBen means exciting for me;
it means fatigue;
it is the morning of the first day on the field;
it means to ask myself:
“how will it be today?” and to be concerned thereabout; it means to ask myself:
“will the children like me?”;
it means also farewell;
to leave with a lot of memories and love;
SosyalBen means also responsibility for me;
it means success or failure; a big responsibility independent of the result to be obtained... SosyalBen is the meaning of life for me since the first day. It is an asset I try to add to my life. SosyalBen means change for me. It means proceeding with tens of friends. It’s getting older. It’s growing in a sense.”

“We all want to be happy, and ask ourselves how and when.
Do we know that to be the reason for a child’s smile, to bloom like a colorful flower on the way a child is walking, to see the excitement in his heart when a child says that he can make it, and to be a map of a child when it is discovering itself, is the source of happiness? Do we know that? ...
I know it already, since the first day where I wanted to be in İzmir … since the moment where I said I’m SosyalBen. The volunteers involved in this journey, we all know it ...
The paths we go to are the bridges for the paths we go to. On this bridge, we, the volunteers, walk side by side as hopeful young people who are happy and the dreams of whom reach the eternity.
That’s why I am so volunteering ...
So glad I have you SosyalBen...”

“Being-a- SosyalBen -Volunteer and Being- SosyalBen is some different; I always was said that. But, there was a moment where I understood that which I can never forget. It was in June 2014 in Diyarbakır ... the place of my first fieldwork experience ... I was trainer in the painting workshop and had approx. 40 students. We were on the 2nd day of a five-days fieldwork and had an event for recycling awareness. During the workshop I said to the children that they should also draw the recycling symbol and showed them how to make it, and everyone started to draw. Suddenly a crying voice was heard. It was a quiet, silent boy who did not speak too much and had also not communicated with me before. His name was Sait ... When I asked him why he was crying, I learned that he was crying because he could not draw the recycling symbol. That was the disappointment and sadness of failure ... When I showed him a simpler way to draw the recycling symbol, he tried again and succeeded it, and when he saw that he could do it, he was so happy, and me too when I saw his enthusiasm; I wish I could show you that image in my mind. After that day, Sait made every painting with a different enthusiasm. In every color, in every size… When I think now back, I ask myself, if that moment could change Sait’s whole week like this, did that week change his whole life? On that day, I learned for which goal we were striving by these trainings. I saw on that day what all we could change with a tiny touch.
I said on that day, “I’m SosyalBen.”

“Everyone in the SosyalBen family has a story and a lot of different memories that they enjoy to share with others, and the common point where we met up are our dreams connecting all of us and making us a big family.
We are motivated by the smiles on the faces of the children on this path that continues with the motto “A child changes, the world changes”, and we strive to reach much more children.
In fact, also we learn a lot together with and from the children; for example, we do not need to speak the same language for communication. But, although we do not speak the same language, and do not come from the same culture, and even if we do not live in the same geography, we leave a mark in their lives.
We know that there is something in everybody’s life in which he or she is successful, and we work hard to make them aware of that. SosyalBen means smile in the faces of children; it means memories that will never be forgotten, and even more a big family.
It’s good that I’m SosyalBen.”

“Throughout our life, we encounter some turning points. The first turning point in my life was SosyalBen.The reason is, so I think: Helping people, especially children and adding something them is among the most important things you can do in this world. While the world is becoming harder day by day, if the smile of a child, even under the hardest conditions of our world makes you feel better, than support SosyalBen like me.
Let’s all make a difference for this world and let’s support SosyalBen. "

“I joined SosyalBen in 2014 and soon after I joined I started taking part in the events. First I was afraid and scared because I was going to meet up with the children for the first time. But I felt better when our senior Volunteers passed their experiences to us. From the moment we met up with the children, everything started to go much nicer than I imagined, and I got closer to SosyalBen.
Every volunteer has experienced this emotion and any new ones too will experience it. That’s what makes us a family. Every human being, every child deserves to be given the chance to show his or her skills.
There is no limit to what a human being can do in this sense. Thank you SosyalBen for having taught that to me and many children.”

“SosyalBen is like a basic need for me. The reason is that it introduced me to the concept of “Social Responsibility”. It is SosyalBen that made me regret the time I’ve wasted and revealed my desire to do every day something for myself, for other people and for the children. For example, the fieldwork we made in Muş... It was a field where no words were sufficient to describe it, and where I really said and felt “I’m SosyalBen”. It was the field where I learned what it means to be a “Team” under so difficult conditions. I have broken down my prejudices there; it was the field where I understood that the people of whom I was previously afraid are actually more sincere than people I know. So glad I have you SosyalBen...

“In fact, SosyalBen is a bit like a man’s exploring himself.It’s like finding yourself in the smile of every kid you meet.
Just like building bridges from one end of the world to the other one. It’s like being sure that the bridges you build will not collapse because you know they were built with nice people.
SosyalBen means for me planting each time different flowers in the soil where I go to, and then to watch them growing up; it’s like wanting to throw more seeds next to these growing flowers
It’s like having a great deal of trouble in this garden every day, experiencing and feeling the tiredness but laughing at the end of everything.”

“SosyalBen means a new hope, a smile in the faces and a world worth to live in ... And one day a kid will come up and smile at you so that you will, just at that moment, understand what you have done and why you did it, and you will say “how good I did it.”SosyalBen means to cause happiness. And the most important thing is to achieve this with a so big family. How good to have SosyalBen.”

“After I met the SosyalBen family, I started to experience the firsts and the bests of my life and to warm up with the smile of a child.
I understood that there are people outside the environment where I’m living and even in other countries who need a warm touch from heart. It’s good that I’m SosyalBen.”
